From 18 to 22 May, the Personalities of the Future Invitation Program (PIPA) welcomed a group of five young international experts to France as part of a series devoted to the challenges of ecological transition : Elsa Berg, mayor of Torshvan (capital of the Faroe Islands); Mate Gali, member of the Hungarian association Miako; Juan Carlos Monterrey Gómez, Panama’s national director for climate change and special climate envoy; Tomas Jungwirth Brezovsky, director of the climate program at the Czech think tank AMO et Shreya KC, climate advisor for the NGO Clean Energy Nepal.
Designed as a space for exchange and dialogue, this program allowed participants to meet institutional, economic and scientific actors engaged in the environmental transition.
During this study period, the laureates were able to:
- to discover French public policies in ecological matters during exchanges with the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the French Biodiversity Office (OFB);
- to deepen the issues surrounding transition financing with the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Directorate-General of the Treasury;
- to discuss with the teams from the Environment and Climate Sub-Directorate of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs on France’s international priorities;
- visit IFPEN’s facilities in order to explore the innovations and research carried out in the field of energy transition;
- discover concrete initiatives through the visit of the Reuse Economy Expo and several field trips.
