In October 2024, PIPA welcomed its 2274th guest, Ms. Fathima Sarah KabirMs. Kabir is a researcher, author, and activist specializing in peacebuilding and reconciliation. She published the book "Voices of Peace", offering insights into the circumstances, lives, and choices of ten former LTTE (Tamil Tigers) combatants and ten Sri Lankan Army soldiers.Discussion on her book "Voices of Peace"She spent a year at the Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms, where she served as deputy director of the research and policy unit. Ms. Kabir is currently leading a project for a documentary highlighting critical moments of Sri Lanka’s post-independence history, largely overlooked in educational curricula.A committed expertHolding a Master’s degree in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics, Fathima Sarah Kabir has worked on governance, democracy, social protection, and human rights programs.Frequently invited by the media, she was a speaker at ILead during International Women’s Rights Day.
