When innovation and culture meet: feedback on a PIPA program dedicated to the creative industries

The Personalities of the Future Invitation Program (PIPA) welcomed to France from February 2 to 6, 2026, Mrs. Alfatika AUNURIELLA DINI, executive director of the GIK UGM incubator, one of Indonesia’s main innovation and creativity hubs.For several days, a tailor-made meeting program allowed him to discover the French ecosystem of creation, innovation and international cultural cooperation, while exchanging with institutional managers, academics and professionals engaged in these sectors.Discovering the French ecosystem of creation and innovationThe program began with a series of exchanges with several major players in the French cultural and creative industries, notably Cap Digital, through a meeting with Marc Bourhis, ICC Community Manager and Program Manager, and Antoine Allard, deputy delegate, communication and facilitation. At the Pompidou Center, the guest spoke with Paul Mourey, Deputy Director of Digital Affairs and Jessica Watson, International Development Delegate and Special Advisor to the President.During the meetings, Mrs. Alfatika AUNURIELLA DINI was able to deepen her reflection on new models of cultural diffusion, the emergence of immersive technologies and the opportunities offered by digital technology to broaden access to culture. His exchanges withSébastien Borget, co-founder of the gallery Artverse, as well as with the teams, have made it possible to address issues related to virtual reality, immersive exhibitions and new forms of cultural mediation.The visit of the exhibition Playing with Fire at the Cité de la musique was a highlight of the program. This experience has nourished a reflection on the international circulation of innovative cultural content and on the possibilities for cooperation between French and Indonesian institutions. Building bridges between institutionsThe stay was also marked by several meetings with actors from higher education and research such as Station F or HEC innovation. The winner met with Emma Cochrane, Director of Innovation at the HEC Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.At PSL University, the PIPA laureate spoke with Jennifer Heurley, Vice-President of PSL, Jenny Karanfil, Head of International Partnerships, and PSL schools about the prospects for cooperation between French and Indonesian institutions. Discussions focused on the development of exchange programmes, the organisation of summer schools and the creation of new mobility opportunities for students and young professionals.These exchanges illustrate the role played by PIPA in connecting up-and-coming personalities with French institutions wishing to develop sustainable international partnerships.Concrete prospects for cooperationBeyond the discovery of French practices, the program made it possible to identify several avenues for collaboration between the institutions represented by the participant and her French interlocutors, as illustrated by the meeting with Claire Bernardi, curator and director of the Musée de l'Orangerie, part of the Musée d'Orsay.Organization of joint events, hosting French experts in Indonesia, development of projects around digital art or dissemination of immersive exhibitions are among the initiatives envisaged at the end of this mission.For Mrs. Alfatika AUNURIELLA DINI, this experience was a privileged opportunity to discover the richness of the French cultural ecosystem, but also to build relationships of trust with partners sharing common ambitions.
